MY STORY

When I came to ECU, I had a very vague idea of what I wanted to do with my life. The mental and physical healthcare I received in my adolescent years inspired me to pursue a related field so I could be a part of that care for others, but I wasn’t exactly sure how to go about it. My preexisting interest in human behavior and the complexity of the brain helped me decide to major in neuroscience and psychology. I trusted I would discover a career I was interested in during my undergraduate education.
The summer before my junior year, I got a job as a pharmacy technician and then took two amazing pharmacology classes during the fall semester. I had never enjoyed a class or a job as much as I did with these. My work finally felt meaningful, and I was excited to keep learning about pharmacology and its importance in neuroscience.
I will be attending UNC’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2026 to obtain my Pharm.D. This field will allow me to combine my preexisting love for neuroscience with my newfound enjoyment of pharmacology and patient care. I am so grateful for my time at ECU as it was instrumental in helping me discover where my passions truly lie, and in preparing me to chase after them.
