MY STORY

Published 01.21.2023

When I arrived at ECU, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I took one singular psychology class in high school and decided I thoroughly enjoyed it. So I decided to take a chance and major in it.  Throughout my time here, I tried to get involved with as many organizations as my schedule would allow. The COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench in that plan and I dove into my academics. I fell in love with research and knew that I want to stay at ECU for graduate school.

I am currently attending the Human Development and Family Science program here at ECU to eventually obtain my Ph.D. to become a professor. I’m also a graduate research assistant and teacher assistant for the program. The psychology program at ECU provided such a strong foundation of knowledge to set me up for success in graduate school.
